TwigGuard Mini
1S reverse-polarity protection without the brick.
TwigGuard Mini is a compact 1S Li-ion reverse-polarity protection board designed for removable 18650 builds where space, resistance, weight, and a clean mechanical interface matter.
Production boards are in validation. Current ratings will be published after bench testing.
Why it exists
For builds where a backwards cell should not become an expensive lesson.
Removable 18650 cells are useful in FPV drones, portable electronics, robotics, controllers, and maker projects, but reverse insertion can put full battery energy into circuitry with the wrong polarity.
TwigGuard is designed as a tiny protection stage that integrates directly with the EWE holder architecture instead of hanging off the end as a bulky adapter board.
Bench validation
No mystery current rating.
The Mini will earn its published specifications with measured hardware. Until then, we are deliberately leaving the big marketing number blank.
TwigGuard FAQ
Useful answers, no datasheet fog.
What does TwigGuard Mini protect against?
It is designed to protect a 1S load from a removable Li-ion cell being inserted with reversed polarity.
Is TwigGuard a battery-management system or charger?
No. TwigGuard is a reverse-polarity protection stage. Charging, over-discharge protection, cell balancing, and other battery-management functions are separate unless a future product explicitly includes them.
What batteries is it designed around?
The current TwigGuard Mini is designed around a single-cell Li-ion system and the EWE removable 18650 holder architecture.
What is its continuous current rating?
That number is intentionally not published yet. Production boards will be characterized with an electronic load and thermal imaging before EWE assigns a continuous-current specification.
Why dual MOSFETs?
The Mini uses two parallel P-channel MOSFETs to reduce conduction resistance and share heat while keeping the protection board compact.
